AYAHUASCA Plant PATENT

My research on the biopiracy case about a variety of ayahuasca vine (Banisteriopsis caapi) that was the subject of a plant patent (No. 5,751) was published in a special issue of the Intellectual Property Quarterly (Issue 2, 2024) in honour of Professor Margaret Llewelyn. The final article can be accessed with a Westlaw subscription, but the author manuscript is also archived here.

I spoke at the Chacruna Institute event entitled ‘Locating Racial Justice in the Psychedelic Patent Conversation’ on Wednesday, January 26th, 2022

I was quoted in the Truffle Report in a piece entitled ‘Psychedelic Patents: Nature, IP Law, & Exclusion’ by Ritika Dubey (September 22, 2021).
